Biography

Zwei Jahre Jura- und Literaturstudium an der Hebrew University Jerusalem. Seit 1999 Filmstudium an der Tel Aviv University.

Has been studying law and literature at Hebrew University, Jerusalem for two years. Since 1999, film studies at Tel Aviv University.

Synopsis Ein Bauarbeiter nimmt auf dem Dach eines Hauses seinen Boß als Geisel und verliest ein Manifest über soziale Gerechtigkeit. Ein junges Paar aus der Filmbranche will seine erste Wohnung kaufen. Eine Gruppe arabischer Arbeiter macht Mittagspause. Wessen Geschichte wird erzählt, und von wem? Der Film wird strukturiert durch Brechts 'Fragen eines lesenden Arbeiters', und er orientiert sich an den Regeln des epischen Theaters. Aber was ist Zitat? Was Parodie? Was ist Spiel, und was ist Ernst? Was war einst, und was ist jetzt? Sind Brechts Worte noch aktuell, oder waren sie es schon 1935 nicht? Sicher ist: Die soziale Rangordnung in Israel hat sich seit der Zeit der 'Black Panther' nicht verändert. Aber wen interessiert das?

Synopsis A construction worker takes his boss hostage on the roof of a house, and reads a manifesto on social justice. A young couple from the film industry wants to buy their first apartment. A group of Arab workers takes their lunch break. Whose story is being told, and by whom? This film is structured by Brecht's "Questions of a Reading Worker" and takes its orientation from the rules of epic theater. But what is a citation? What is parody? What is play, and what is serious? What was then, and what is now? Are Brecht's words still up to date, or were they already out of date in 1935? Surely, the social order in Israel hasn't changed since the time of the "Black Panthers". But who cares?
