Wirklich glücklich sind meine Eltern nicht miteinander. Aber doch hat ihre Ehe nun schon 38 Jahre Bestand, und alle Krisen - Arbeitslosigkeit, Alkohol, Trennungsphasen - hat sie überstanden.
Was schweißt die beiden zusammen? Was ist der Kitt ihrer Ehe? Die Verantwortung für die gemeinsamen Kinder? Angst vor dem Alleinsein? Gewohnheit? Oder Sicherheit, die sich auf in Jahrzehnten gewachsene Vertrautheit gründet? Ein Film, der in perspektivischer Intimität vielen Fragen nachspürt. Aus vertraulich-kurzer Distanz begleitet die Kamera ein Ehepaar durch Szenen seines Alltags, läßt die beiden alten Leute unterschiedliche Ansichten ihrer Ehe reflektieren. |

My parents aren't really happy with one another. But their marriage has now held for 38 years, outliving all crises - unemployment, alcohol, periods of separation.
What is the cement that holds their marriage together? The responsibility for their shared children? Fear of being alone? Habit? Or security, based on a familiar intimacy that has grown over the decades? The film explores many questions from an intimate perspective. From a close distance, the camera accompanies the couple through the scenes of everyday life, lets the two old people reflect upon different views of their marriage. |
