Aya will sich nicht zufriedengeben mit dem Blick durch die zierlichen Gitter der Empore, auf die die Frauen verbannt sind im Gebetshaus. Warum sollen Männer Gott näher sein dürfen als Frauen? Purim nähert sich, der Festtag, an dem die Juden ihre Errettung durch Esther, eine Frau, feiern. Aya nutzt die Vorbereitungen auf das Fest, das als 'jüdischer Fasching' bekannt ist, um sich als Mann zu verkleiden. Wenn sie sich unerkannt unter die Männer mischt, begeht sie ein unvorstellbares Sakrileg, das bei seiner Entdeckung Konsequenzen nach sich ziehen muss. Mit einem linearen dramaturgischen Aufbau und einfachen Bildern konzentriert sich der Film auf einen Diskurs, der nicht nur die Position der Frau im jüdischen Glauben zum Thema hat, sondern sehr elementare Fragen nach dem richtigen Glauben und nach dem richtigen Handeln im Glauben stellt. Wie weit schreibt die Schrift vor, und wie weit ist sie vorgeschrieben? Was ist es, das Gott von denen erwartet, die an ihn glauben? Liba Bai - das Herz begehrt. |

Aya takes the preparations for the celebration, known as "Jewish Carnival", as an opportunity to dress up as a man. When she secretly mixes among the men, she commits an incomprehensible sacrilege; after its discovery, this sacrilege will must have serious consequences. With a linear dramaturgic construction and simple images, the film concentrates on a discourse that not only thematizes the position of the woman in Jewish belief, but also poses very elementary questions about true belief and righteousness in belief.
