Tomer und Yoni sind Brüder. Daß Tomer vier Jahre älter ist, trennt sie ebenso wenig wie seine geistige Behinderung. Doch während Tomer täglich neu die gleichen Spiele mit steter Begeisterung spielen möchte, gibt es in Yonis Leben wichtige Veränderungen. Sowohl der erste Kuß als auch seine Bar Mitzwah sind wichtige Schritte auf dem Weg zum Erwachsensein. Plötzlich sieht er seinen Bruder mit anderen Augen. Das naiv-kindliche Einverständnis scheint in Gefahr, und der ältere Tomer findet sich angstvoll in der Rolle des kleinen Bruders wieder. In dichten Bildern erzählt Mabul vom Weg zweier ungleicher Brüder durch den Fluß zwischen Kindheit und Erwachsensein. |

Tomer and Yoni are brothers. The fact that Tomer is four years older no more separates the two brothers than his mental handicap. But while Tomer is excited by playing the same games day in, day out, important changes are taking place in Yoni's life. Both the first kiss and his Bar Mitzvah are important steps on the road to adulthood. Suddenly he sees his brother with different eyes. The naive, childlike harmony between the two brothers seems to be endangered, and the older Tomer anxiously finds himself taking on the role of the little brother. In dense images Mabul tells of the journey of two unequal brothers travelling down the river between childhood and adulthood. |
